Francisco B. Maningo, M.D.

Dr. "Dodong" Maningo wirtes songs and ballads with equal verve and prowess as he writes his poem in bothe English and Visayan. Among his composition are: Luyo sa Dagum, Hilit Sa Damgo, Handumon Ko, Gugma Ko, Nangita Sa Pasaylo, Sukta Ako, Gisi Nga Gihay and those written in English like All The While, You're Heavenly, Dare I, Least You Forget among others. Dr. Maningo was a prominent cardiologist in Cebu specializing in internal medicine and heart deseases, servin in frou hospitals in the United States.

Manuel “Maning” Velez

Prof. Manuel P. Velez or Maestro Maning to his friends was the music icon of Cebu. His compositions, Luha sa Kalipay way made into a Visayan Movie of the same title, Lawiswis sa Kawayan, Makabibihag ang Rosas, Balitaw ni Inday, Ako'y Kampuput, Malipayon Ako Karon, among into different languages and dialects. The most famous among his children is the actress, Lilian Velez. Prof. Manuel Velez practically spent all his life making music, playing the piano and composing songs that lingered thru the ages.

Domingo “Minggoy” Lopez

(1912 - 1981)

Born on August 12, 1912 in Sitio Kalubihan, San Nicolas, Cebu City. Composer of Cebuano hits, ROSAS PANDAN, KAMINGAW SA PAYAG, KAGAHAPON UG KARON, PAG UTLAN SA GUGMA, SALIMUANG SA HUBOG and many others. He is "Cebu's Music Man" whose music is deeply rooted in and so expressive of the Cebuano soul. He had captured in his songs the simple hopes and humble aspirations of the typical Cebuano. In his panamilit song addressed to his remaining daughters Rebecca... ang mga honing buhat ko, ampingan gayud, kay mao ray kabilin mo...
