No approved therapeutic claims?

No approved therapeutic claims – we always hear this line every time a pharmaceutical product is advertised on the radio and/or television. This somewhat serves as a disclaimer for the product they are selling. Most commonly found on herbal medicine advertisements and even in their packaging they always have this one printed in bold. Maybe they’re doing these to entice people to buy and not worry about any side effects and the like when taking these products.

One of my friends told me that there was one incident that a lady died because of taking this certain product. As far as I can recall this lady drank this herbal medicines knowing that this product can cure a lot of disease AND there’s no approved therapeutic claims, but in the end it’s only the cause of her death. I forgot about the whole details of this story but this sure is a great example.

How can a food supplement cure different diseases?

This is what consumers should ask about these herbal medicines, that are food supplements, introduced through television and radio advertisements, and now companies are also using the internet to reach a wide range of consumers. They should be honest enough about their products before anything bad will happen to those who are using these pharmaceutical products.

Now, can you trust these products stating that there are no approved therapeutic claims?

Just like what I said in my previous post, we’re just like lab rats. The companies are somewhat like testing their products if it’s really that effective. They’re not thinking about the health of the person who’s taking their product and using it a “medicine” contrary to the fact that it’s only a food supplement. Medicine and food supplement are of two different worlds; they have different effects.

I’m not saying that taking these products is bad; however, the company should disseminate the right information about their products.
